Surrender

(Mercury goes direct. Saturn goes retrograde. The Moon waxes full.)

In spiritual literature and thought, there is a word that repeats over and over again. Surrender.

It repeats because of its importance, relative to peace creation and the realized Self.

Absolutely nobody can teach you how to surrender. Words, like these, merely point the way and plant the seed for its eventual natural emergence.

You learn surrender through difficultly. Walking in the mud, with no end in sight, transiting desperate and scary states of being.

The urge runs strong to “get out” or “to win.”

To surrender means to realize the unity of light and dark. How the co-exist. To see the mud in the lotus and lotus in the mud.

With this, the devotee drops her weapon, takes a breath, and says, “I will not fight.” And in this moment, she becomes herself. A master.

Surrender is not giving up. It is not waiving the white flag.

It is dropping the resistance between this and that.
