The End of Isms

(The Sun enters Aries. New Moon in Aries. Pluto enters Aquarius.)

Take your pick, but’s let’s start with capitalism. The philosophy of gain and loss, have and have not, competition, and its fetish for growth, even at the cost of the Earth’s precious, life-sustaining resources.

It’s end is nigh at hand (along with a plethora of unsustainable, unjust, offensive-to-life systems or “isms.”).

It’s time to start preparing.

Currentl inflationary conditions will not deflate. All basic commodities to the majority of people will become too expensive. Wages will not increase in kind. The people will become mad and fearful — demand change from their leaders and governments who, despite, soaring rhetoric, will be powerless to create it.

There will be chaos. Supermarkets might dry up. Stores will shutter. We might see depression-era motifs replay and controlling hands try to create order.

After some time, especially in neighborhoods and communities, people will start talking to one another — really talking.

Food can be grown and shared. Somebody might know how to make clothes. This one has time to look after the kids. That one can fix your car.

And we start to wonder why we bought into a system that disabled these far more empowering and natural connections.

Capitalism will not be missed. It might be of interesting note to historians but like a bad flu, we will be happy to see it dismissed off the world stage.

We have to be ready for the initial chaos and shock, and perhaps going without certain creature comforts for awhile. We might want to have pantries stocked for a few months, water on hand, seeds, etc. We might want to start to get to know our neighbors now, if we don’t already.

As a rule of thumb, if you know more about a celebrity on social media that you will never meet than you do about your next door neighbor, it’s time to put down the screen and go knock on the door.

Everybody has goodness. Everybody is kind. Everybody wants to help everybody else. Research has demonstrated this.

It is the isms that have divided us and ruled over us — and they are all about to tumble down, down, down into the ground.

We, the citizens of this beautiful world, must take their place. And we will.
