A-HA

(Happy Mother’s Day. ♥️)

The work of the spiritual aspirant, the seeker after Truth is predominantly the work of removal or undoing.

Habits and tendencies almost entirely. You might call them “negative” but only in the sense that they lead you away from your Self, and into the mire of confusion, suffering, and outside seeking.

This wonderous process is fundamentally at odds with modern society — so much so, you could call it radical.

More than radical, it is hard because of the external resistance you will meet (let alone the internal!).

You keep going because you know what you are after is of Supreme value, greater than any treasure the world can offer.

At times, you may think it is too hard. Why do I engage in these practices, bear discomfort, while others drive fancy cars and live in big houses?

You know why. Whatsoever this world offers, comes, stays, and then goes. Simple logic teaches us not to invest in such impermanence — seductive though it can be.

You are after something Eternal. Something Permanent. Something that doesn’t change.

The Real. That luminous expression of who you truly are that shines forth from the Heart within the heart, and the beatific qualities this brings.

Pure joy. Pure bliss. Pure awareness. That knows no end — that has no cause.

There is no other reason to breathe than to do the work of Realization, unless you want to play games, only to realize in the end that you missed the train.

Existence is so kind to us though. Even if you miss the train, you get another chance, and another, and another after that. Until you finally say…

A-HA. I got it.
