Death Do Us Part

(Above: The Sun enters Scorpio πŸ‘»)

Freedom is something that gets unlocked. It is not found.

It is not found in any place, person, or thing, though it may seem like it.

Freedom β€” moksha β€” is the spiritual-scientific phenomenon of the personal consciousness merging with the Universal Self. It occurs at the point of the death of the ego, which is the aimless aim of all spiritual traditions and practices down through the ages.

Death of the ego.

It happens rudely, primarily. It is a thoroughly unpleasant process. Think of the ego as some malignant ruler unwilling to give up the throne. It has to be fought, and it has to be fought to the death.

If there were a core human assignment, it would be this. We are uniquely privileged in a sense, as no other creature in nature has the opportunity to undertake this kind of work.

Take a look around. What do we do instead? It’s almost laughable if it were not so sad.

The doings of the world get frustrating because they are temporary. Great exultation is preceded by great decline β€” over and over again. We start to get hip to this game and bored with it as well.

The gaze turns within. Intentions get realigned. And the pathless path opens up.

You are going to be challenged right until the very end, which will feel more like a beginning than anything. Not 24 hours a day. Think of a simmering pot of sauce. The burner is always on.

There are times you feel it more than others, but it’s always there to make sure you keep going.

The ego attaches itself to family drama, work, substances, entertainment, success, and anything that distracts it from what will bring about its annihilation. It has a survival instinct.

In this, it is a formidable foe. Far from indomitable, though. Far from it.

Who and what you are, the Creative Life Force Power of the Universe is infinitely larger than this pesky devil. It is sort of like David vs. Goliath because you don’t fully realize who you are yet.

You’ve got to find your courage and your fortitude to go toe-to-toe with this inner foe.

Awareness is your sword. Resilience is your shield.

Who or what are you avoiding out of fear?

Gently, very gently understand this is where you are stuck, where the ego has you trapped.

What now? πŸ™πŸ»
