To Hurt is Human
(Above: Mercury goes retrograde in Sagittarius. 🙀)
No amount of understanding, know-how, or intelligence can counter it.
Everybody hurts sometimes.
Circumstances become overwhelming. Our mind can’t see the way through and assumes the worst, causing further spiraling.
It is a thoroughly unpleasant experience — not life threatening, but unpleasant.
Hurting is not without value though. It comes with the terrain of change and transformation. It typically indicates the death of something old and subtle birth of something new.
There really is no way around it — just ways to bring kindness to the situation. Rest. Breathe. Meditate. Talk. Take a long walk. Observe nature.
And remember the timeless wisdom of Oscar Wilde, “No feeling is final.”
No feeling is final.
Everything in this ephemeral world arises, stays for a while, and passes away.
If something difficult has arisen, it is not an accident. It is not random. It is a gift of sorts but hardly seems like it in the moment.
Be with it, as best as you can. Running away, burying your head in the sand, and similar just delays and compounds things.
Like a large ocean wave comes crashing down, causing temporary havoc, let whatever it is play its part. Be the immovable Self.
Keep open to any information that comes through during such periods. Keep a journal handy. Monitor your emotional state. What is triggering you? That is what’s calling for attention.
There is no greater teacher of compassion than personal turmoil and tribulation.
Deep change is afoot, my friends. A new evolutionary era is upon us. First, disruption of the old.
What no longer works or is serving us will fall away. Is falling away.
And that can be cause for tears.
To hurt is human. 🙏🏻
