Nothing is uncertain. Absolutely nothing.

Uncertainty is connected to both the mind and the future. It is not connected to the here and now, which are absolutely certain.

If you look to your past, you will see that your residences, people in your presence, your motivations all served a purpose in the present and also were setting something up for things yet to pass.

The future. What you and we will walk into is being cultivated now. This strongly suggests that what lies ahead of us has already been scripted.

In a sense then, the future is certain. It’s going to happen. It just may not match our expectation or preference, both cause for upset and suffering.

The ego pushes mightily for what it wants to avoid this pain — itself a painful way of being.

The gentle warrior of Truth develops wings of equanimity to expect nothing and accept everything, no matter how hard that is.

The preference becomes for what was, is, and will be, based on the knowing that all are out of the realm of our control, and that whatever shows up serves a will that can only be described as kind.

Everything is a gift.

Suggested Use: Have pen and paper ready. Read this post once. Then read again, a little more slowly. Pause. Reflect. Journal any connections or intentions that come to you.
